A lot of people use drum samples, but the drums end up sounding robotic and fake.

I've done years of testing, and found that simple tricks to get fullness and power from drums. Like scooting a snare drum track back a little bit will put it in line with overheads. It's simple phase relationships that make the difference. Most mixers will instinctively reach for EQ to fix the problem, but the solution is simpler than that.

Again...simple phase relationships. If you use EQ, the mix becomes harder and harder to translate to the real world.

If your mix ever sounds funny in the car this is why...too much processing with EQ.

Is this course for someone who has already gone to audio school?

• Yes! I get a lot of students buying my courses that have graduated from Full Sail, SAE and others.

I'm a total beginner. Is this course for me?

• I do my best to always speak at a basic level so that you don't get lost in terminology.
• While we cover lots of advanced concepts, mixing great drum tracks is mostly about using the fundamentals of mixing. A good foundational technique means less issues to fix with EQ, etc.
• If for some reason you can't keep up or the course is too hard, I'm happy to give you a full refund.

Do I need to have a specific DAW?

• Nope. I use Studio One, and you can use whatever you'd like.

Are there special plugins I need to buy?

• Stock plugins will work fine if that is all you have.
• The Bonus Mini Course uses a plugin called "Auto-align" for part of Video 2. You can get the same results by sliding tracks around. It also is one of the cheaper plugins on the market.

Can I really post the song as my own mix work?

• Totally! Mix it and post it.
